The PMC Toolkit

The Public Media Corps Toolkit is a collection of helpful documents that help public media organizations adopt various key methodologies of the Public Media Corps model. Here you will find documents that are the output of the initial 6-month beta of the PMC model, conducted by the National Black Programming Consortium with partners in Washington, DC.

Download the overview for a sense of the total 6-month beta experience, or dive in to the specific tool kits for each of the various community engagement models that were discovered in DC, and the various lessons learned.

Mission

We, the founding members of the Public Media Corps, believe that we can close this nation's digital opportunity divide through new models of community service. We connect our communities to the informative, expressive, and transformative potential of digital media in all its depth, meaning and value. United by the principles of civic engagement, social justice and reciprocity, we strengthen community voices and create networks, partnerships and dialogue between schools, service organizations, local communities and public media.
