Hi.

Things have been pretty quiet around here.

*watches tumbleweed roll through the blog*

But that is all about to change. It’s already the second month of the Public Media Corps Beta and things are ramping up. We’re getting ready to launch one of the first (if not the first) large-scale survey of internet usage in wards 1, 7, and 8 in Washington, D.C.

I’ve been recording audio, shooting with my FlipCam, and taking photos pretty much since we received our media goodies at the Boot Camp but I’ve been admittedly stingy with sharing the results. No more of that, starting right now. You can click here for the set of photos I have documenting the PMC so far, which includes the PMC’s Boot Camp session at American University in June.

I’ll also be posting video and audio soon so stay tuned. This is a media fellowship after all; it’s high time I added, you know, media to this space.

Mission

We, the founding members of the Public Media Corps, believe that we can close this nation's digital opportunity divide through new models of community service. We connect our communities to the informative, expressive, and transformative potential of digital media in all its depth, meaning and value. United by the principles of civic engagement, social justice and reciprocity, we strengthen community voices and create networks, partnerships and dialogue between schools, service organizations, local communities and public media.
